From the outside a pool looks like a hole with a lining, but it is really a watertight concrete structure holding back both water and soil pressure. If the ground, the water table and the slope are not taken into account, a pool can crack, or even be lifted by groundwater when it is emptied. For houses and villas we build pools with a proper structural design.
We build reinforced concrete, fiberglass and prefab pools. Concrete gives you complete freedom over size and shape; fiberglass goes in faster but the dimensions are set by the mould. Size, depth and equipment are chosen around how you will use the pool. We deliver turnkey, including heating, lighting, automatic cleaning and safety equipment. On plots near the sea we recommend stainless fittings because of the salty air.
Pool Construction Advantages
Engineering: The pool is designed for the ground conditions and the water table, and the concrete shell is calculated.
Waterproofing: The concrete is poured to be watertight and then a cementitious or membrane waterproofing layer is applied. The pool is filled and tested for leaks before the finish goes on.
Filtration: The filter, pump and disinfection system are sized to the pool volume.
Design: The pool is planned together with the garden levels, terrace and landscaping.
Pool Construction Process
We start with a site visit and a look at the ground. The pool type, size and equipment are agreed. Then come excavation, blinding concrete, formwork and rebar, the pour, waterproofing, the finish and the mechanical installation.
After handover we help with the first start-up, balancing the water and routine maintenance.
