A double story prefab house is a two-storey building assembled from factory-made panels and structural elements. For families who need more rooms on a small plot it makes better use of the land than a single storey. Because the upper floor bears on the lower panels and frame, it needs a more careful structural solution than a single story prefab, and the stairwell and intermediate floor are part of that calculation.

We offer double story prefab models from 80 m² to 250 m². A typical layout has the living room and kitchen downstairs and the bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. If it will be your permanent home, discuss sound insulation between floors and the position of the stairs early on, as these are hard to change later with prefab.

Project and Delivery Process

We begin by visiting the plot and talking through what you need. Once the model and layout are settled, we check the zoning and prepare the drawings for the building permit. The factory produces the panels while the ground is prepared and the foundation is poured.

On a two-storey build the upper elements are usually lifted in by crane, and scaffolding and fall protection are a must at this stage. After assembly we finish the services, cladding, interiors and, if you want it, the garden, and hand the house over turnkey.
